Duane and Mary Shenk, Founders
Duane was born and raised in Lancaster County, PA. He attended Lancaster Bible College where we met. I was born and raised in the greater Wilkes Barre area. We were married in 1992 and began a life of adventure serving Jesus together. We have 2 amazing sons, Jeremy and Derek, married to Mandy and Michelle respectively and love being Mimi and Poppa to Skylar and Bentley (Jeremy and Mandy’s children), and Daniel and newborn Brooke (Derek and Michelle).
We have served together and separately in a variety of roles over the years. Our professional and volunteer backgrounds include: camping ministries, working with at-risk children and youth in both foster care and residential settings, discipling ministries, numerous short-term missions trips, developing a growing college and career ministry, student ministries, children's ministries, mentors, board member of a camp, executive director of an educational non-profit and event planning/hosting. We enjoy traveling, hiking, the outdoors, and riding motorcycle.
Aside from all the "qualifications" of who we are, our hearts belong to Jesus and we long to serve Him to the best of our ability. We believe that our purpose is to glorify God and benefit his people. We believe strongly in the Great Commission and take living our lives with intentionality seriously.
This ministry is a faith-based ministry and it is amazing to watch God supply all of our needs in his perfect timing. It is exciting to see the direction he is taking us currently and how all of our previous roles have prepared us for the what we believe to be the greatest responsibility and privilege yet: that of engaging, equipping, and empowering young adults to live life on purpose.
